Technical Generalist

Cosmicport is a space-tech startup developing methalox rocket propulsion and launch systems from Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. We operate a cryogenic propulsion test facility and are building a team working at the frontier of Indian private spaceflight. We're looking for someone who can build and fix things across the company — software, systems, and whatever else needs building — in a rapid-moving, engineering-driven environment.

Role Summary: You'll be the person who tinkers, builds, and fixes — internal tools, trackers, integrations, small apps, the company website, even some marketing/content work when needed. You won't be doing deep propulsion engineering, but you'll work alongside engineers, picking up context fast and building whatever they need without hand-holding. This is a builder role for someone who's genuinely curious and doesn't want to be boxed into one lane.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electronics, IT, or a related technical field. No specific certifications required — projects and demonstrated ability matter more than credentials.

Responsibilities:

Building & Systems

- Build and maintain internal tools, trackers, and small custom apps to support engineering, ops, and admin workflows.
- Set up and integrate systems (databases, dashboards, automations) with guidance from engineers — you don't need to design the architecture, but you should be comfortable implementing it.
- Handle general technical/IT admin: accounts, tools, basic troubleshooting, company website upkeep.

Content & Outreach

- Help maintain the company website, write occasional articles or updates, and support outreach/BD conversations — this isn't a marketing hire, but comfort writing and representing the company matters.
- Support documentation — trackers, one-pagers,



whatever needs to exist and doesn't yet.

General

- Fill gaps across engineering support, admin, and ops — the role is deliberately broad; what you work on will shift based on what the company needs that week.

Required Qualities:

- Strong coding fundamentals (Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar) and genuine comfort picking up new tools/languages as needed.
- Demonstrated project or work history building real things — apps, tools, automations, contributions (open source, personal projects, or work experience all count).
- Comfortable working with minimal direction — this is a "figure it out" role, not a "follow the ticket" role.
- Some exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), databases, or DevOps-adjacent tools is a plus.
- Willingness to be based full-time in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

Preferred Qualities:

- Experience across multiple domains (not just pure software) — someone who's dabbled in content, ops, or small business-side tasks alongside coding.
- Startup or small-team experience, where role boundaries were loose.
- Genuine curiosity — side projects, hackathons, open-source contributions, self-taught skills.
