- Position Title:Team Leader/ Senior Field Engineer
- Department: Network Operations

JOB PURPOSE The Team Leader / Senior Field Engineer is responsible for leading field deployment activities for Wi-Fi and broadband infrastructure projects across Bihar region. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities, ensuring timely site surveys, installations, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities while maintaining service quality and project timelines.

The incumbent will supervise and guide Field Engineers, coordinate with internal stakeholders and clients, ensure compliance with project standards, and drive successful execution of deployment and support operations.

- Reports to: State Manager-Field Operations and Maintenance/State Head
- Direct Reports: Field Engineers / Technicians (as assigned)
- Indirect Reports to: NOC Team

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

External

- Customer and site owner coordination
- Site surveys, installations, testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities
- Coordination with vendors, ISPs, and local support partners
- Resolution of site-level escalations

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES Daily activities that a Team Leader / Senior Field Engineer will be expected to undertake include:

- Lead and supervise Field Engineers & Technicians during deployment and maintenance activities.
- Demonstrating and explaining the use of equipment to consumers.
- Site survey, Installation/Testing/Commissioning.
- Assigning tasks and monitoring progress of field teams.
- Keeping records of installations, repairs, maintenance, and field activities.




- Adjusting or calibrating equipment settings so that performance is improved.
- Test updated equipment, equipment that has just been installed, and repaired equipment to make certain that it is working correctly.
- Replace or repair malfunctioning, damaged, or faulty equipment.
- Service and inspect access points, wiring, and equipment.
- Set up, replace, and rearrange dialling and routing equipment.
- Install Internet equipment in buildings and offices.
- Ensure quality standards and timely completion of assigned work.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior Field Engineers.
- Escalate critical technical issues and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.
- Prepare and submit field activity reports as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in network deployment, Wi-Fi implementation, ISP operations, or telecom field services.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience leading or supervising field teams.
- Strong understanding of wireless networking and broadband deployment.
- Hands-on experience with Mikrotik, Cisco, Cambium, Ubiquiti, or equivalent networking equipment.
- Experience in troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with project documentation and reporting processes.

- Strong aptitude for learning recent technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment
- Good English skills (verbal and written)
- Good Hindi skills (verbal and written)

- Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal.
