Surgery Counsellor – Eye Hospital

Position: Surgery Counsellor

Department: Clinical / Patient Counselling

Qualification: B.Sc. / M.Sc. Optometry or relevant healthcare qualification

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an Eye Hospital preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Counsel patients regarding Cataract, Retina, Squint and other ophthalmic surgeries/procedures.
- Explain treatment options, procedures, advantages, risks, preparation and follow-up requirements.
- Provide counselling for diagnostic procedures such as OCT and HFA when required.
- Coordinate with Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, OT, Billing and other departments.
- Support patients throughout the pre-operative and post-operative process.
- Follow up with patients and assist in surgery scheduling and conversion.




- Address patient and bystander queries professionally.
- Maintain accurate counselling, follow-up and surgery records.
- Ensure a positive patient experience and maintain confidentiality.
- Achieve assigned patient counselling and surgery conversion targets.

Preferred Skills

- Good knowledge of Cataract, Retina and Squint procedures.
- Strong communication and patient counselling skills.
- Good convincing and interpersonal skills.
- Target-oriented and patient-focused approach.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.

Pay: ₹11,185.69 - ₹25,650.33 per month
