Job Summary

About The Team We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead backend infrastructure powering mission-critical, ultra-low latency systems. This role will own high-performance distributed systems that process millions of events per second with strict SLA, determinism, and fault tolerance requirements. You will lead a team building core components such as order management systems (OMS), risk engines (RMS), matching engines, market data pipelines, and real-time ledger systems.

This is not a generic backend role - this is systems engineering at scale.

Responsibilities

- Architect and evolve backend systems for ultra-low latency workloads

- Own performance benchmarking, load testing, and capacity planning

- Drive decisions on storage engines (e.g., RocksDB, in-memory stores, log-based systems)

- Ensure correctness under high concurrency

- Lead production incident reviews and postmortems

- Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Infra teams

- Define SLAs and SLOs for critical systems

- Establish observability practices for latency, throughput, and determinism

Requirements

- Distributed systems design

- Concurrency and multi-threading

- Memory management and performance tuning

- Network stack fundamentals

- Linux internals (epoll, kernel tuning, NUMA awareness)

- Experience With:



Java / C++ / Rust (low-level performance optimization)

- In-memory data stores

- Event streaming systems

- Lock-free or low-lock architectures

- High-throughput message queues

- Load testing at scale

Preferred Qualifications

- Trading systems / exchange / fintech infra experience

- OMS, RMS, or matching engine exposure

- Deterministic system design

- Market data systems

- Kernel bypass (DPDK), if applicable
