Role Description This part-time, unpaid Social Media and Community Management Intern role is a remote internship focused on supporting She Breaks Barriers’ online presence and community engagement. Day-to-day tasks include managing social media channels, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages in a timely and inclusive manner.

The intern will assist in developing content ideas aligned with the platform’s mission, drafting copy for social posts, and collaborating on campaigns that highlight women’s stories and upcoming events.



Additional responsibilities may include supporting online events, tracking basic performance metrics, and sharing insights to improve social media and community strategies. This role offers hands-on experience in social media management, community building, and mission-driven digital communication.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) for managing and growing online communities.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Writing skills for creating clear, engaging, and inclusive content.
- Candidates should possess skills in Content Strategy for planning and organizing social media and community initiatives.
- Interest in gender equity, women’s empowerment, or social impact initiatives is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate with a small, mission-driven team.
- Basic familiarity with major social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook) and scheduling or analytics tools is an advantage.
