Role & responsibilities

- Operate and monitor the Sinter Plant Control Room/DCS/PLC system during the shift.
- Monitor and control key process parameters such as:

- Sinter machine speed

- Bed height

- Ignition furnace temperature
- Wind box temperature and pressure

- Suction pressure

- Gas flow and temperature

- Strand speed
- Sinter return fines and productivity
- Ensure stable and optimized operation of the sintering process.
- Coordinate with field operators for proper operation of Sinter Machine, Mixing & Granulation, Ignition Furnace, Crushers, Screens, Coolers, Conveyors and other associated equipment.
- Monitor plant alarms, process deviations and equipment abnormalities from the control room and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Maintenance teams during equipment breakdowns and process disturbances.
- Ensure achievement of daily production, productivity and quality targets.
- Monitor sinter quality parameters and coordinate with the Quality/Laboratory team for maintaining required specifications.
- Maintain proper shift logbooks, production reports, process parameters and breakdown records.
- Ensure optimum utilization of raw materials and minimize fuel consumption, return fines and process losses.
- Identify abnormal operating conditions and take timely action to prevent major breakdowns or production loss.




- Ensure proper communication and handover between incoming and outgoing shifts.
- Supervise shift operators and allocate manpower according to operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, SOPs, PPE requirements and work permits.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the Control Room and Sinter Plant area.
- Participate in troubleshooting, process improvement and productivity enhancement initiatives.
- Support implementation of SOPs, process control standards and operational improvements.

3. Control Room Responsibilities The candidate should have hands-on experience in:

- Sinter Plant DCS/PLC/SCADA Control Room operation.
- Monitoring and controlling the complete sintering process.
- Understanding process trends, alarms, interlocks and equipment status.
- Adjusting process parameters to maintain reliable operation.
- Handling process abnormalities and emergency situations.
- Coordinating field operations with Control Room activities.
- Monitoring production and process parameters through HMI/DCS screens.
- Preparing shift-wise production and process performance reports.

Preferred candidate profile

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy OR

- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy

3 - 5 years of relevant experience in Sinter Plant operations
