Senior OpenShift Engineer | Experience: 5+ Years

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Engineer with 5+ years of experience in managing, administering, and supporting enterprise Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift environments. The candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Kubernetes, Linux, containerization, automation, troubleshooting, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, deploy, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters.

· Perform OpenShift installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and cluster lifecycle management.

· Monitor cluster health, performance, capacity, availability, and security.

· Troubleshoot complex issues related to OpenShift clusters, nodes, pods, networking, storage, and application deployments.

· Manage OpenShift resources including Projects, Namespaces, Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, Routes, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.

· Configure and manage RBAC, SCC, Security Contexts, Resource Quotas, and Limit Ranges.

· Manage OpenShift Operators and Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM).

· Work on OpenShift networking components including Ingress, Routes, DNS, Load Balancers, Network Policies, and OVN-Kubernetes.

· Manage persistent storage including PV, PVC, Storage Classes, CSI drivers, and ODF/Ceph storage.

· Perform backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high-availability activities.

· Support application onboarding and deployment on OpenShift environments.

· Implement and manage CI/CD and GitOps solutions using tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton, GitLab, or similar technologies.

· Automate operational tasks using Ansible, Shell scripting, Python, or Terraform.

· Work with container technologies such as Docker and Podman.

· Monitor environments using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, and other observability tools.

· Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)



for critical incidents and implement preventive measures.

· Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network, Security, Storage, DevOps, and Application teams.

· Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, architecture documents, and operational procedures.

· Participate in production support and 24x7 on-call/shift rotation as required.

· Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.

Mandatory Technical Skills

· Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x).

· Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and administration.

· Experience with OpenShift installation, configuration, upgrades, and Day-2 operations.

· Strong Linux administration skills, preferably RHEL.

· Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker / Podman, Helm, YAML, Git, Ansible, and Shell/Python scripting.

· ISTIO Service Mesh.

· Experience with OpenShift Networking and Storage.

· Knowledge of CI/CD and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, Tekton, or GitLab CI/CD.

· Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

· Strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis skills.

· OpenShift Service Mesh.

· OpenShift Virtualization.

· VMware / Bare Metal OpenShift deployment experience.

· Experience with air-gapped/disconnected OpenShift environments.

Required Competencies

· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a 24x7 enterprise environment.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹85,000.00 per month
