About AskCruz

AskCruz is an AI operating system for mid-market businesses — not another chatbot layered on top of software, but AI that runs inside how a company actually operates. We ingest a company's ERP data, email, calls, and internal knowledge into a live, queryable system (built on Claude), so operators get answers and action from their own business context instead of generic AI output.

We're an early-stage, founder-led team with paying customers and a product that's already live in production. This is a builder's seat, not a maintenance seat.

What you'll own

You'll be the senior technical owner of AskCruz's core product surface — not a single layer, but the connective tissue between them:

- IRIS — our live ERP + Claude query layer, which lets operators ask direct questions of their own business data and get grounded answers back
- The OV ingestion pipeline — the system that pulls in email, calls, SOPs, and static knowledge and turns it into structured, queryable context
- The product surfaces clients touch — Odoo-based CRM/task workflows and our Next.js front end

You won't be handed fully-scoped tickets. You'll be given a client problem — "this account needs its call history queryable" or "this workflow is too manual" — and you'll design and ship the solution.

What you'll actually do

- Build and harden Claude-API-based query and agent workflows against live ERP data
- Extend and scale ingestion pipelines (email, call transcripts, documents) into structured, retrievable knowledge
- Work inside Odoo (Python/XML/PostgreSQL) to extend CRM, task, and reporting workflows
- Build and maintain front-end surfaces in Next.js/React
- Make architecture calls directly with the founder — no layers of process between you and the decision




- Take a new client's onboarding from "here's their data" to "IRIS is answering their questions" with minimal hand-holding

What we need from you
- 5+ years building production software, with real ownership of systems end to end — not just tickets
- Strong Python — you can build backend services, not just scripts
- Direct experience building with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, or similar) — prompt design, tool use/function calling, RAG or agent patterns in production, not just a personal project
- Working comfort with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling
- React/Next.js competence sufficient to ship a client-facing feature without a dedicated front-end hire
- Comfort with ambiguity — you'll define the "right" solution as often as you're told it

Strongly preferred
- Odoo experience (Python/XML customization) — steep learning curve if you don't have it, but not disqualifying if everything else is robust
- Experience at an early-stage startup where you were one of the first 1-3 engineers
- Exposure to ERP, CRM, or other operational business systems (not just consumer software)
