Role Description The Senior DevOps Engineer role is a full-time hybrid position based in Washington, DC, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks to support software delivery.

The Senior

DevOps Engineer will manage and optimize Linux-based systems, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability and scalability of production environments. Daily activities include collaborating with development and operations teams, improving deployment processes, enhancing system security and compliance, and documenting best practices.



The role also involves mentoring team members on DevOps methodologies and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar, and a solid understanding of automated environment provisioning.
- Proficiency in Software Development practices, including scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, Go, or similar), and experience integrating code with DevOps workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and delivery tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and automated testing and deployment pipelines.
- Robust System Administration skills, with a focus on Linux environments, including monitoring, performance tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and document technical solutions and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in a senior DevOps, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or similar role, including leading or mentoring technical teams.
