1. POSITION PURPOSE

The Senior Architect will provide senior-level architectural leadership and project ownership across multiple projects, from conceptualization and design development through detailed documentation, coordination, and construction support. The position is responsible for ensuring design excellence, technical quality, statutory compliance, timely project delivery, client satisfaction, and effective team performance.

The Senior Architect will act as a key link between the Lead/Principal Architect, design team, consultants, project team, clients, contractors, and statutory authorities.

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Design Leadership & Architectural Development Lead the architectural design process from concept stage through detailed design and execution.

Develop and review design concepts, planning strategies, space planning, elevations, sections, details, and presentations.

Translate client requirements, project objectives, and functional requirements into effective architectural solutions.

Provide strategic design direction to Architects and Junior Architects.

Review design alternatives and recommend practical, economical, and technically feasible solutions.

Maintain the architectural vision and design intent throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure consistency of design quality across multiple projects.

Take responsibility for resolving complex architectural and design challenges.

B. Project Ownership & Delivery

Take overall responsibility for assigned architectural projects and deliverables.

Establish project design priorities, deliverables, and internal timelines.

Monitor progress against project schedules and ensure timely submission of deliverables.

Identify potential delays, design risks, coordination issues, and resource requirements at an early stage.

Coordinate with the Project Head to ensure architectural activities remain aligned with overall project objectives.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines.

Ensure proper handover and continuity between design, documentation, and site execution stages.

C. Client Management & Stakeholder Coordination

Act as a senior point of contact for clients on architectural matters.

Understand and evaluate client requirements and provide professional recommendations.

Lead design presentations and client review meetings.

Manage client feedback, design revisions, and approvals.

Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, PMC teams, and government authorities.

Represent the organization in important project meetings when delegated by the Lead/Principal Architect.

Handle sensitive design, coordination, and project-related discussions professionally.

D. Multidisciplinary Coordination

Lead coordination with Structural, Electrical, HVAC/MEP, Landscape, Interior, Fire & Safety, and other specialist consultants.

Review multidisciplinary drawings and identify clashes, discrepancies, and design conflicts.

Ensure architectural requirements are properly incorporated into other consultants' designs.

Coordinate with estimation and project teams for design-related requirements.

Provide timely architectural inputs to the Project and Estimation teams.

Participate in technical coordination meetings and ensure closure of outstanding issues.

E. Technical Review & Quality Control

Conduct detailed technical reviews of architectural drawings and documentation.

Review working drawings, construction details, schedules, specifications, and material proposals.

Ensure drawings are technically accurate, coordinated, and suitable for construction.

Establish and maintain architectural documentation and quality standards.





Review drawings prepared by Architects and Draftsmen before submission/issuance.

Ensure compliance with applicable NBC, local development regulations, building bye-laws, fire regulations, accessibility standards, and statutory requirements.

Identify design and documentation errors before issue to clients, consultants, or contractors.

F. Construction & Site Support

Provide senior-level architectural guidance during construction.

Conduct regular site visits as required by project requirements.

Review site conditions and provide appropriate architectural solutions.

Resolve technical queries raised by contractors and site teams.

Review shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups, and construction details.

Monitor execution against approved architectural drawings and design intent.

Coordinate with the Project/Site Team for timely resolution of architectural issues.

Provide recommendations on variations, substitutions, and design modifications where required.

G. Team Leadership & Resource Management

Lead, supervise, and mentor Architects, Junior Architects, Intern Architects, and Draftsmen.

Allocate work according to project requirements, individual capabilities, and deadlines.

Review team performance and deliverables at regular intervals.

Provide technical guidance and develop the capabilities of junior team members.

Establish efficient workflows for design development and documentation.

Monitor team workload and coordinate resource requirements with management.

Promote accountability, collaboration, and professional standards within the architecture team.

Conduct knowledge-sharing and technical review sessions where required.

H. Design Standards & Process Development

Develop and maintain standardized architectural drawing and documentation practices.

Improve internal design, coordination, and review processes.

Establish checklists for design and drawing quality control.

Ensure proper version control and documentation of design revisions.

Introduce efficient methods to improve productivity and reduce design/documentation errors.

Support management in developing architectural standards and internal design guidelines.

I. Commercial & Project Coordination Support

Provide architectural inputs for project estimates, BOQs, specifications, and tender documentation.

Coordinate with the Commercial/Estimation Team regarding design changes and their cost implications.

Review scope changes and provide technical inputs for variation proposals.

Support management in evaluating design options from technical, functional, quality, and cost perspectives.

Assist in preparing technical proposals and presentations for new projects and tenders when required.

J. Business Development & Pre-Tender Support

Support the Lead/Principal Architect in architectural proposals, tenders, EOIs, and presentations.

Contribute to project feasibility studies and preliminary design proposals.

Assist in preparing design narratives, project presentations, and technical submissions.

Participate in client presentations and pre-bid discussions when required.

Provide professional inputs for developing new project opportunities.

1. AUTHORITY & DECISION-MAKING

The Senior Architect will be expected to: Take ownership of architectural decisions within assigned projects.





Approve/recommend design and technical solutions within delegated authority.

Review and recommend architectural drawings before final approval.

Allocate and monitor work within the architecture team.

Escalate major design, commercial, contractual, or project risks to the Lead/Principal Architect.

Ensure that critical architectural decisions are properly documented and communicated.

Take responsibility for the quality and timely completion of assigned architectural deliverables.

1. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Qualification B.Arch. – Bachelor of Architecture from a recognized institution.

M.Arch. / specialization in Architecture, Urban Design, or related field will be an advantage.

Professional Registration

Council of Architecture (COA) registration preferred/required as applicable.

Experience

15–20 years of relevant professional experience in architectural design and project delivery.

Proven experience in independently handling medium to large-scale projects.

Experience in government, institutional, commercial, residential, infrastructure, or public-sector projects will be an advantage.

1. ROLE EXPECTATION

The Senior Architect is expected to function not merely as a design professional but as a project and design leader, capable of independently managing architectural responsibilities, guiding the architecture team, coordinating multidisciplinary consultants, handling senior-level client interactions, and ensuring successful delivery of projects in line with the organization's quality, design, commercial, and timeline objectives. Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
