1. Job Purpose To support the Quality Department in ensuring that raw materials, components, machining, fabrication, assembly and finished products meet the required drawings, specifications, quality standards and customer requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

Incoming Quality Inspection

- Inspect incoming raw materials, bought-out components and engineering materials.
- Verify material dimensions, specifications, quantity and relevant certificates.
- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for material inspection and acceptance.
- Identify and report defective or non-conforming materials.

In-Process Quality Inspection

- Conduct quality inspection at different stages of manufacturing.
- Inspect fabrication, machining, welding, assembly and finishing activities.
- Check components against approved drawings, specifications and inspection standards.
- Monitor critical dimensions and maintain inspection records.
- Identify defects at the earliest stage and coordinate for corrective action.

Machine Shop Quality

- Inspect components manufactured through VMC, CNC, conventional machining and other machine-shop processes.
- Use measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Gauge
- Thread Gauges
- Welding gauges and other inspection tools.
- Verify dimensional accuracy as per engineering drawings.

Fabrication & Welding Quality

- Inspect fabricated structures and components for dimensional accuracy.
- Check welding quality, weld size, alignment and visual defects.
- Coordinate with the fabrication team for rectification of quality issues.
- Monitor rework and rejection in fabrication.

Final Inspection

- Conduct final inspection of components, assemblies and completed machines.
- Verify dimensions, fitment, alignment, appearance and functionality.
- Ensure the product is released only after meeting defined quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain final inspection reports.

Documentation





- Maintain inspection reports, rejection reports, rework records and quality check sheets.
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) where required.
- Maintain calibration records for measuring instruments.
- Maintain traceability of inspection and quality documents.
- Support preparation of quality reports for management review.

Quality Improvement

- Analyse rejection, rework and customer complaints.
- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA).
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Support reduction of rework, rejection and material wastage.
- Follow and promote 5S and continuous improvement practices.

Coordination

- Coordinate closely with Production, Design, Stores, Purchase, Project and Service Departments.
- Communicate quality requirements clearly to production personnel.
- Escalate critical quality issues to the Quality Manager.
- Support customer and third-party inspections when required.

3. Qualification

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) / B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and inspection methods is preferred.

4. Experience

- 0–2 years of experience in Quality / QC / Manufacturing.
- Freshers with valuable technical knowledge and interest in Quality may also be considered.
- Experience in machine shop, fabrication, welding or engineering manufacturing will be an advantage.

5. Technical Skills

- Basic knowledge of mechanical inspection.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T; basics will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments.
- Basic knowledge of machining and fabrication processes.
- Basic knowledge of welding inspection.
- MS Excel and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems is an advantage.

Pay: ₹10,999.09 - ₹39,472.43 per month
