Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Job Purpose To ensure that all manufactured, fabricated and assembled machine components and complete machines meet required quality standards, drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming raw materials, machined components and purchased items.
- Conduct in-process and final inspection of machine components and assemblies.
- Check dimensions as per 2D/3D drawings, BOM and specifications.
- Inspect fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, finishing and polishing work.
- Maintain inspection reports and quality records.
- Identify defects, deviations and non-conformities.
- Coordinate with Production and Design teams for corrective actions.
- Monitor rework and rejection.
- Conduct final machine inspection before dispatch.
- Prepare punch-point and rectification reports.
- Ensure proper calibration/use of measuring instruments.
- Maintain quality documentation and inspection checklists.
- Support machine trial and testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with company quality procedures.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of mechanical inspection.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining and assembly inspection.
- Good MS Excel / Google Sheets knowledge.
- Robust attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
