Role Overview

We are looking for a Scrum Master with strong hands-on QA/Functional Testing experience to drive Agile product delivery while ensuring product quality and effective collaboration across Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in both Scrum/Agile delivery and Quality Assurance/testing. The candidate may have started their career in QA and subsequently moved into Scrum Master/Agile Delivery roles, or may have worked across both functions.

This role requires someone who can not only facilitate Agile ceremonies and manage sprint delivery but also understand testing processes, requirements, acceptance criteria, defects, UAT, and end-to-end product workflows.

Exposure to AI/ML products, AI testing, prompt validation, or AI-driven workflows will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Scrum Master & Agile Delivery

- Act as the Scrum Master for product and technology teams and drive effective Agile/Scrum practices.
- Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to maintain and prioritize the product backlog.
- Ensure user stories are clearly defined and supported by appropriate acceptance criteria.
- Track sprint progress, velocity, risks, dependencies, blockers, and delivery timelines.
- Identify and proactively remove impediments affecting team productivity and delivery.
- Coordinate dependencies between Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams.
- Improve sprint planning, estimation, delivery predictability, and overall team efficiency.
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and Agile best practices.
- Prepare and maintain Agile dashboards, reports, and delivery metrics.
- Ensure effective communication and alignment across cross-functional teams.

1. QA & Functional Testing

- Apply hands-on knowledge of QA and functional testing to support product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications from a quality perspective.
- Create, review, and validate test scenarios and test cases where required.
- Perform or support functional, regression, integration, UAT, and end-to-end workflow testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.




- Work closely with developers and Product Owners to understand defects and support timely resolution.
- Validate fixes and ensure identified issues are properly closed.
- Ensure adequate test coverage for new features and product enhancements.
- Support UAT planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination.
- Identify functional gaps, edge cases, workflow issues, and potential product risks.
- Ensure releases meet defined business, functional, and quality expectations.

1. Business Analysis & Requirements

- Understand business requirements and translate them into clear user stories, functional requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Work with stakeholders to identify business needs, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and functional requirements.
- Ensure clear traceability between requirements, user stories, test scenarios, defects, and delivered functionality.
- Facilitate communication between Business, Product, Engineering, and QA teams.
- Support Product Owners in requirement clarification and prioritization.

1. Product Quality & Release Management

- Participate in release planning and ensure QA activities are aligned with sprint and release timelines.
- Monitor quality risks and communicate potential release blockers to relevant stakeholders.
- Support defect triage and prioritization based on business impact and severity.
- Ensure critical issues are addressed before production releases.
- Conduct or support end-to-end validation of important product workflows.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, Agile practices, and overall product quality.
- Support root-cause discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

1. AI Product Quality – Added Advantage

- Exposure to testing AI-powered features, AI-generated outputs, or AI-driven workflows.
- Understanding of prompt validation, response accuracy, consistency, and functional validation of AI features.
- Ability to identify quality issues or inconsistencies in AI-driven product workflows.
- Experience with AI/ML-based products will be an advantage.

Requirements
- 5–8 years of total experience in QA, Scrum Master, Agile Delivery, Business Analysis, or related product/technology roles.
- Solid practical experience in both Scrum Master/Agile delivery and QA/functional testing.
- Ideally 2–4 years of experience in Scrum Master/Agile delivery and 2–4 years of hands-on QA/testing experience, with flexibility depending on the candidate's overall profile.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.




- Hands-on experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and managing sprint delivery.
- Strong understanding of functional testing, regression testing, UAT, defect management, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, workflows, and requirement documentation.
- Strong knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, or similar Agile/project management tools.
- Experience working with Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams.
- Ability to identify blockers, risks, dependencies, and quality issues.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional dependencies.
- Product-based or technology/startup experience will be preferred.

Qualification

Preferred educational background:

- BE / B.Tech
- MCA
- MBA/PGDM with relevant technical/Agile experience
- Any technical or equivalent educational background with relevant experience

Nice to Have
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
- SAFe or other Agile certifications
- ISTQB or other QA/testing certification
- Experience in a startup/product-based environment
- Experience working closely with engineering and QA teams
- Exposure to AI/ML products or AI testing
- Experience with product analytics or business intelligence
- Knowledge of Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown, cycle time, and lead time
- Experience with test management or defect tracking tools
