We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented QA Engineer / QA Automation Engineer to take complete ownership of product quality across our web application.

This role will be responsible for both manual and automation testing, with a strong focus on Frontend/UI and API testing. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar automation frameworks, along with good knowledge of APIs, SQL, CI/CD and Agile methodologies.

As the first dedicated QA professional, you will have the chance to establish QA processes, automation frameworks, testing standards and best practices from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the complete QA lifecycle, including test planning, execution, defect management, regression and release validation.
- Perform functional, integration, system, UAT, regression, smoke and exploratory testing.
- Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar tools.
- Determine the appropriate balance between manual and automated testing.
- Perform Frontend/UI testing across different browsers, devices and screen sizes.
- Test React/Next.js applications and validate UI functionality and user workflows.
- Perform API testing using Postman and validate REST APIs, HTTP methods, responses, JSON and integrations.
- Test end-to-end business workflows involving booking, invoicing, commissions, payments and supplier reconciliation.
- Validate integrations between frontend, backend services, databases and third-party APIs.
- Perform data migration, data validation and data parity testing.
- Review requirements,



user stories and acceptance criteria to identify potential quality gaps.
- Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, test plans and QA documentation.
- Identify, reproduce, document and track defects using Jira.
- Work closely with developers and business stakeholders to resolve defects and improve product quality.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing.
- Monitor test execution, defect trends and overall product quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
- Establish and improve QA processes, standards and best practices.
- Independently own quality while collaborating with development and business teams.

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Manual and Automation Testing.
- Proven experience building or significantly owning an automation testing framework.
- Strong knowledge of Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar frameworks.
- Strong experience in Frontend/UI testing.
- Experience testing React-based applications.
- Good understanding of API testing, REST APIs, HTTP methods and JSON.
- Basic to good knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Experience testing applications involving multiple services, databases and third-party integrations.




- Knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Jira and defect/test management.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify edge cases and failure scenarios.
- Ability to work independently and establish QA processes in a fast-paced environment.

Good to Have
- Experience with React / Next.js / TanStack.
- Experience working in a startup or small development team.
- Experience as the sole or first QA professional in a team/organization.
- Exposure to travel technology, fintech, payments or financial applications.
- Experience testing applications where data accuracy and financial reconciliation are critical.
- Experience establishing QA automation frameworks and processes from scratch.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a QA Engineer / QA Automation Engineer who:
- Is strong in both manual and automation testing.
- Can independently build or significantly own an automation framework.
- Has hands-on experience with Playwright/Cypress/Selenium.
- Is comfortable testing Frontend, Backend, APIs and Databases.
- Can independently take ownership of product quality.
- Has strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Can work effectively with developers, product teams and business stakeholders.

Note: This is not a purely manual QA role. Strong automation experience and the ability to build or meaningfully own an automation framework are essential.
