Job Summary The Public Relations Officer (PRO) will be responsible for building and maintaining a positive public image of the school, developing strong relationships with parents, students, media, community members, and other stakeholders, and promoting the school's activities, achievements, values, and initiatives.
The PRO will also support the school's admission and marketing activities by creating awareness about the school and generating positive engagement within the local community.
Key Responsibilities1. Public Relations & Communication
- Develop and maintain a positive image and reputation of the school.
- Act as a communication bridge between the school and parents, community, media, and other stakeholders.
- Handle public inquiries and provide appropriate information about the school.
- Maintain professional relationships with parents, local organizations, educational institutions, and community groups.
- Represent the school at public events, exhibitions, education fairs, and community programs.
1. Media Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with local newspapers, news channels, digital media, and journalists.
- Prepare and distribute press releases regarding school events, achievements, competitions, awards, and important announcements.
- Coordinate media coverage of school events and activities.
- Ensure that all information shared with the media is accurate and aligned with the school's policies.
1. School Promotion & Branding
- Promote the school's vision, achievements, facilities, academic programs, extracurricular activities, and success stories.
- Coordinate with the marketing and social media team to promote school activities.
- Assist in developing promotional campaigns for admissions and school events.
- Identify opportunities for positive publicity and community engagement.
- Ensure consistency in the school's communication and brand image.
1. Parent & Community Engagement
- Develop strong relationships with existing and prospective parents.
- Support parent engagement programs,
meetings, workshops, and community activities.
- Coordinate outreach programs in nearby residential areas, institutions, and communities.
- Participate in school promotional activities designed to increase awareness and admission enquiries.
- Collect feedback from parents and communicate relevant concerns to school management.
1. Events & Activities
- Coordinate PR activities for annual functions, sports days, exhibitions, workshops, competitions, celebrations, and other school events.
- Invite and coordinate with guests, dignitaries, media representatives, and community leaders.
- Prepare event communication material, invitations, press notes, and announcements.
- Ensure maximum positive visibility for important school events.
1. Social Media & Digital PR
- Coordinate with the digital marketing/social media team for school-related content.
- Identify achievements, activities, events, and stories that can be highlighted online.
- Assist in increasing the school's visibility across social media and digital platforms.
- Monitor public feedback and online mentions related to the school.
- Escalate negative or sensitive communication to the appropriate authority.
1. Admission Support
- Support the admissions team in generating enquiries through PR and community outreach.
- Develop relationships with parents of prospective students.
- Participate in admission campaigns, school fairs, open houses, and promotional activities.
- Promote the school's strengths and unique offerings in a professional and informative manner.
- Maintain records of PR activities and enquiries generated through outreach initiatives.
1. Crisis & Reputation Management
- Assist school management in handling sensitive public communication.
- Respond professionally to complaints, queries, or concerns when assigned.
- Protect the reputation and confidentiality of the school.
- Ensure that no unauthorized or misleading information is communicated publicly.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant experience in school PR, education marketing, media relations, or admissions will be preferred.
Experience Preferred: 0-5 years of experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Corporate Communications, School Admissions, Media Relations, or a similar role.
Freshers with excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills may also be considered.
