Position Overview
We are looking for a technically competent and execution-focused Project Engineer to manage the on-site execution of industrial rooftop solar projects.
The Project Engineer will take ownership of the project after formal handover from the Engineering Department and will be responsible for completing the installation safely, accurately, on schedule and in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take complete charge of the assigned project site after receiving a formal handover from the Engineering Department.
- Study approved drawings, Bill of Materials, project scope, technical specifications and execution schedules before commencing work.
- Plan and supervise the installation of module mounting structures, solar modules, DC cabling, inverters, AC systems, earthing, lightning protection and associated equipment.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly project execution plans.
- Allocate manpower, contractors, tools and equipment according to the project schedule.
- Coordinate with the customer’s project, electrical, civil, maintenance and safety teams for work permits and site clearances.
- Ensure that all work is completed strictly according to approved drawings, technical specifications and established installation practices.
- Monitor material receipt, unloading, storage, consumption and reconciliation at the project site.
- Identify material shortages and promptly coordinate with the Engineering, Procurement and Stores teams.
- Maintain proper control over material wastage, damage and pilferage.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety requirements, including PPE, work permits, lifelines, guardrails, scaffolding and work-at-height procedures.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure that unsafe work is immediately stopped and corrected.
- Supervise workmanship and conduct stage-wise quality inspections.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections, measurements, test reports and project progress.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, meter installation, statutory inspections and plant synchronisation.
- Identify technical or execution-related challenges and resolve them in coordination with the concerned departments.
- Communicate project progress, constraints and support requirements to the Project Manager on a daily basis.
- Prepare Daily Progress Reports with photographs, manpower details, completed quantities and planned activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and professional conduct at the customer’s premises.
- Prepare as-built drawings, material reconciliation statements, commissioning documents and project handover records.
- Obtain customer confirmation and closure of all pending observations or punch points.
- Successfully hand over the completed and commissioned plant to the customer and Service/O&M; Department.

Qualification and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in Solar EPC project execution.
- Experience in Commercial and Industrial rooftop solar projects will be preferred.
- Practical knowledge of solar modules, mounting structures, inverters, DC and AC systems, earthing and commissioning.
- Understanding of electrical drawings, Single-Line Diagrams, layouts and Bills of Materials.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and work-at-height requirements.
- Ability to manage site manpower, vendors and multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, email communication and digital project-reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel and remain stationed at project locations across India.
