We are looking for an experienced Product Manager – School Books to manage the end-to-end development of our K-12 academic book portfolio and ensure products are aligned with curriculum requirements, school needs, market trends, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle of K-12 school books, from concept and planning to publication and market launch.
- Research CBSE, ICSE, State Board, and emerging curriculum requirements to identify new product opportunities.
- Develop product concepts, book series, subject portfolios, and product roadmaps based on market requirements.
- Work closely with authors, subject matter experts, editors, designers, illustrators, and content teams to develop high-quality books.
- Define content structure, scope, learning objectives, features, and product specifications for new titles.
- Coordinate with editorial and production teams to ensure timely completion and publication of titles.
- Analyse feedback from schools, teachers, students, sales teams, and distributors and incorporate relevant improvements.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify gaps, pricing trends, product features, and opportunities.
- Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop product positioning, catalogues, presentations, samples, and launch strategies.




- Support the sales team with product training, presentations, product knowledge, and school-specific requirements.
- Monitor product performance, sales data, market acceptance, and customer feedback.
- Identify underperforming products and recommend revisions, new editions, or repositioning.
- Maintain the product calendar and ensure timely launches as per academic cycles.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure products are delivered within defined quality, cost, and timeline parameters.

Eligibility
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Management, Publishing, English, or a relevant field.
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in School Book Product Management / Educational Publishing is preferred.
- Strong experience in K-12 school books and academic publishing.
- Good understanding of CBSE, ICSE, and school curriculum requirements.
- Experience working with authors, editors, content developers, designers, and production teams.
- Strong market research, analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple products and timelines simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of the school education market and competitive landscape.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates from school book publishing companies will be strongly preferred.
- Experience managing K-12 textbooks, workbooks, supplementary books, activity books,



or academic series.
- Positive understanding of the complete publishing process from concept → content → editorial → design → production → launch.
- Strong network/understanding of authors, educators, schools, and academic stakeholders will be an advantage.
- Commercially aware with the ability to identify products that have strong market and sales potential.
- Strong ownership, creativity, attention to detail, and execution skills.
- Ability to work closely with Sales, Editorial, Content, Design, Marketing, and Production teams.
