Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Engineer I with 10–15 years of experience in data engineering, data integration, and data transformation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, ETL processes, and SDTM/LSH, with the ability to design and implement scalable data solutions.

The candidate will work closely with data architects, analysts, business stakeholders, and technology teams to develop robust data pipelines, ensure data quality, and support enterprise data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/data integration pipelines.
- Develop complex and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
- Work extensively with SDTM/LSH data structures and processes.
- Translate business and technical requirements into effective data engineering solutions.
- Design data models and transformation logic to support reporting, analytics, and downstream applications.
- Perform data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
- Troubleshoot data pipeline, integration, and performance-related issues.
- Optimize SQL queries and ETL workflows for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with data architects and engineering teams on technical design and implementation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level data engineers.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to data engineering and development standards.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, mappings, and processes.




- Identify opportunities to automate manual data processes and improve overall data reliability.
- Support production deployments, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10–15 years of overall experience in Data Engineering / Data Integration.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Strong experience in ETL development, data transformation, and data integration.
- Good understanding and practical experience with SDTM/LSH.
- Experience designing and implementing complex data pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data validation concepts.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing ETL processes and SQL queries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle complex technical requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with modern data platforms and cloud technologies.
- Experience with enterprise data warehouses/lakes.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Exposure to CI/CD, version control, and automated deployment practices.
- Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineering teams.

Education

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

The person should be comfortable working on complex data integration problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving data engineering solutions from design through production.
