Roles & Responsibilities:
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and VSAM.
Develop and modify COBOL programs based on business and functional requirements.
Develop and maintain CICS online transactions and application components.
Create and modify JCL jobs for batch processing and application execution.
Design, create, and maintain VSAM files and perform file processing operations.
Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of mainframe applications.
Analyze existing code and implement enhancements, fixes, and new functionalities.
Troubleshoot program errors and resolve technical issues during development and testing.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
Prepare technical specifications, test cases, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with business analysts, QA teams,



and other technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Support application releases and ensure successful implementation of developed changes.
Optimize application code and batch processes for improved performance and efficiency.

Must-Have Skills:
Strong hands-on experience in COBOL development.
Solid knowledge of CICS and online application development.
Hands-on experience with JCL and batch processing.
Robust understanding of VSAM and file processing.
Valuable knowledge of z/OS, TSO, and ISPF.
Experience with debugging and troubleshooting COBOL/CICS applications.
Good understanding of mainframe application architecture and development lifecycle.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in writing and executing unit and integration test cases.
Good understanding of SDLC and software development processes.
