Location: R&D; Centre, Navalur OMR Road, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Employment Type: Full time. (Monday to Friday).

Specialization: - HEAD LAMP MANDATORY

> Optical lens design, light source integration, and optical simulation for automotive lighting systems, with a focus on high beam, low beam, and signal lamps (DRL, DI, and front position).

> Calculate optical geometries for headlamp and signal lamp components during series development using advanced lighting and simulation technologies.

Roles & Key Responsibilities 1. Design & Development Activities

- Perform activities in alignment with the Metier Development Plan of the respective PG/PL.
- Review internal and customer requirements, specifications, and ensure compliance.
- Own the robust design and validation of optical systems, aligning with economic and performance targets.
- Support technical architecture, optical standards, and system-level integration.
- Adhere to standardization rules and internal design guidelines.

2. Optical Design and Validation

- Execute or support optical simulations, coding, and validation tasks.
- Conduct or assist in optical calculations including worst-case and statistical tolerance analysis.




- Support or perform thermal studies related to optical components.
- Plan and conduct optical testing to validate designs and ensure system performance.

3. Process Compliance

- Ensure all activities comply with Metiers processes and design rules.
- Facilitate and participate in design reviews (internal and with suppliers) and ensure proper documentation and action follow-ups.

4. Project Management & Reporting

- Regularly report progress on assigned tasks and deliverables.
- Proactively escalate identified risks or issues.
- Monitor and coordinate the progress of optical development within the defined scope.
- Ensure strict application of optical rules and procedures.
- Organize and lead mtier-specific design reviews and manage the associated action plans.

5. Knowledge Sharing & Innovation

- Stay updated through technology watch in relevant domains (product trends, patent landscapes).
- Actively participate in brainstorming or innovation sessionscontributing ideas that may lead to patentable solutions.
- Recommend laboratory improvements (tools, methods, etc.) to enhance overall service efficiency.
- Supervise interns or trainees for studies or activities relevant to optics, within the scope of the department.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

- Degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Strong background in automotive lighting systems.
- Experience with optical simulation software (e.g., LightTools, LucidShape, SPEOS, HELIOS).
- Knowledge of relevant standards (SAE, ECE) and automotive product lifecycle.
- Ability to perform statistical/tolerance analysis and thermal impact assessments.
