Key Responsibilities

- Teach Indian Vocal Music to students across different age groups and grades.

- Develop students’ knowledge of Swar, Taal, Raga, Alankar, basic notation, rhythm, and Indian musical traditions.

- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons according to the school curriculum and students’ learning levels.

- Train students for morning assemblies, annual functions, celebrations, competitions, concerts, and cultural events.

- Prepare and conduct individual and group vocal music practices.

- Identify students with musical talent and provide additional guidance and training.

- Train students in patriotic songs, devotional songs, folk music, classical compositions, school songs, and event-specific performances.

- Maintain discipline and ensure proper conduct during music classes and rehearsals.

- Coordinate with teachers and activity coordinators for performances and school events.

- Assist in selecting suitable songs, compositions, and musical arrangements for various occasions.

- Maintain and take proper care of musical instruments and other music-room resources.

- Keep records of students’ participation,



progress, and performance.

- Encourage creativity, confidence, stage presence, teamwork, and appreciation of Indian cultural heritage.

- Participate actively in school activities, celebrations, workshops, and co-curricular programmes.

- Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive learning workplace for students.

- Perform any other academic or co-curricular responsibilities assigned by the school management.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Music (Vocal) from a recognised university/institution.

- Relevant diploma or certification in Indian Classical Music will be an added advantage.

- Strong knowledge of Indian Classical/Vocal Music.

- Prior experience in a reputed school or educational institution preferred.
