We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to supervise day-to-day mechanical maintenance, installation, repair and servicing activities. The candidate will be responsible for managing technicians/fitters, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently, and coordinating with the Engineering/Maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily mechanical maintenance and repair activities.
Allocate work to fitters, technicians and other maintenance staff.
Monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Ensure proper installation, alignment, dismantling and assembly of machines/equipment.
Identify mechanical problems and coordinate timely troubleshooting.
Ensure availability and proper use of tools, equipment and spare parts.
Maintain daily maintenance records, job reports and equipment history.
Coordinate with Production/Operations and Engineering teams for maintenance activities.
Ensure maintenance work is completed within the planned time.
Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements and work-permit systems.
Monitor manpower productivity and work quality.
Guide technicians and workers on correct maintenance procedures.
Ensure proper housekeeping at the work site.
Report major breakdowns,
unsafe conditions and maintenance requirements to the senior engineer/manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
2-4 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance/supervision.
Good knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, conveyors and other mechanical equipment.
Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.
Good manpower handling and team-management skills.
Basic knowledge of MS Office and maintenance documentation.
Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Knowledge of industrial safety practices.
Preferred Candidate
Experience in plant/factory/industrial maintenance will be preferred.
Experience in handling a team of fitters/technicians.
