- Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of all mechanical machinery and equipment in the factory.
- Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.
- Identify mechanical faults, troubleshoot breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
- Conduct regular inspection of machines, equipment and mechanical systems to identify potential issues.
- Prepare and follow daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain records of machine breakdowns, preventive maintenance, repairs and machine history.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize machine downtime and ensure uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate with external technicians, service engineers and vendors for machine servicing and repairs.
- Identify spare-parts requirements and maintain adequate inventory of critical maintenance spares.
- Supervise installation, commissioning and trial runs of new machinery and equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and identify recurring problems, root causes and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of maintenance tools, equipment and consumables.
- Follow and ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and maintenance standards.
- Suggest and implement measures for improving machine reliability, efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing, food processing, FMCG or similar plant.
- Hands-on experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance of industrial machinery.
- Good knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, compressors, pneumatic systems and other mechanical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in maintenance planning and spare-parts management.
- Ability to identify the root cause of recurring machine breakdowns.
- Good coordination skills with Production, Electrical and other Maintenance teams.
- Willingness to work in a factory/production environment and handle emergency breakdown situations.
- Positive communication and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of food-processing industry safety and hygiene standards will be an added advantage.
