About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and committed Mathematics Cover Teacher to join our IB MYP team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Mathematics lessons, supporting student learning, and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver effective Mathematics lessons for MYP students in line with IB MYP principles and school curriculum.
- Develop students’ mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and assessment.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage student participation, collaboration, inquiry, and independent learning.
- Integrate IB Approaches to Teaching and Learning (ATL) skills into classroom practice.




- Collaborate with the Mathematics department and other teachers for effective planning and student support.
- Communicate appropriately with parents and relevant stakeholders regarding student progress when required.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, career development, and other academic activities.
- Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and IB standards and practices.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Prior teaching experience in Mathematics at the MYP/secondary level.
- Experience in an IB School, preferably with MYP experience, will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Mathematics concepts and effective teaching methodologies.
- Good classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to engage students through inquiry-based and student-centred learning.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills
- IB MYP experience or MYP training/certification.
- Experience with international curricula.
- Ability to use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
- Strong commitment to student wellbeing and holistic development.

Duration Temporary position for Maternity Cover, with the exact duration to be confirmed based on the school's requirement.
