About the Role

Aachi Group is looking for a Packaging Development R&D; professional to develop, improve and commercialise packaging solutions for our spices, masalas, sauces, ready-to-cook products and other FMCG food products.

The role will involve working closely with R&D;, Quality, Production, Procurement, Marketing and packaging vendors to deliver packaging that is functional, cost-effective, scalable and aligned with product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop primary, secondary and tertiary packaging for food and FMCG products.
- Develop and evaluate packaging formats such as pouches, flexible laminates, cartons, bottles, jars and corrugated boxes.
- Drive packaging development from concept to commercialisation.
- Conduct packaging trials, feasibility studies and production line trials.
- Evaluate packaging for strength, seal integrity, barrier properties, compatibility and product protection.
- Develop and maintain packaging specifications, BOMs, dimensions and technical standards.
- Work with suppliers for sample development, material trials and commercialisation.
- Identify and develop new packaging materials and structures.
- Support new product development (NPD) and product renovation projects.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material optimisation and value engineering.
- Troubleshoot packaging issues during production, storage and transportation.




- Coordinate with Marketing/Design teams on artwork and print feasibility.
- Support shelf-life studies and packaging validation.
- Explore sustainable, recyclable and lightweight packaging solutions.
- Maintain proper documentation of packaging trials, specifications and approvals.

Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's/Diploma in Packaging Technology, Packaging Engineering, Printing & Packaging Technology, Polymer Technology or a related field.
- 38 years of experience in Packaging Development / Packaging R&D.;
- Experience in Food / FMCG packaging is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of flexible packaging, laminates, films, cartons and corrugated packaging.
- Hands-on experience in packaging trials, vendor development and NPD.
- Good understanding of printing, lamination, sealing and converting processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of costing and packaging optimisation.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
