Job Summary

Mainframe level 2 Production support.

Tech stack and roles and responsibilities include: Tech Stack: COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2 for application support FileAid, FileManager, FileMaster for file management; Changeman, Endevor for package management / deployment; SAR for viewing jobs - prod; SFTP jobs for secure file transfer between two systems.

Responsibilities

- Troubleshooting: Analysing complex issues and identifying solutions to problems. This includes quickly diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime.

- Technical support: Answering technical support queries and implementing fixes for application problems.

- Incident management: Communicating technical information to non-technical users, listening to users concerns, and providing regular updates on incident management.

- Performance optimization: Enhancing the efficiency and speed of mainframe operations.

- Application monitoring: Tracking the performance of applications.

- Documentation:



Creating and maintaining documentation for supported applications.

- Cross-functional teams: Working on cross-functional teams to proactively address support issues.

- Escalated issues: Handling escalated issues that Level 1 support is not equipped to handle.

- Hardware repair: Coordinating depot services or performing in-house hardware repair.

- Software installations: Installing software.

- Configuration issues: Handling configuration issues.

- Break/fix: Handling break/fix issues.
