Role & responsibilities
LMS Strategy and Program Design
- Develop the overall LMS strategy, roadmap, governance framework, and implementation plan.
- Assess organizational learning needs and translate them into functional and technical LMS requirements.
- Design scalable learning journeys for employees, customers, partners, or other target audiences.
- Recommend appropriate LMS features, integrations, content formats, and delivery methods.
- Establish standards for course structure, accessibility, assessment, certification, and learner experience.
Platform Implementation
- Lead LMS selection, implementation, configuration, testing, migration, and deployment.
- Work with IT, HR, business teams, and vendors to integrate the LMS with relevant systems.
- Manage learner data, roles, permissions, workflows, notifications, course catalogues, and reporting structures.
- Oversee user acceptance testing, issue resolution, system documentation, and launch readiness.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, information security, accessibility, and organizational policies.
Program Execution and Operations
- Manage the day-to-day administration and performance of the LMS.
- Coordinate course creation, uploads, enrolments, learning assignments, assessments, certifications, and completion tracking.
- Develop and maintain program calendars, operating procedures, service standards, and support processes.
- Monitor system availability, learner issues, content quality, and overall platform performance.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical and operational problems.
Content and Learning Experience
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts and instructional designers to develop engaging learning content.
- Supervise the production and maintenance of e-learning modules, videos, assessments, blended programs, and supporting resources.
- Ensure content remains accurate, relevant, consistent, accessible, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Promote learner engagement through effective communication, campaigns, reminders, and community-building initiatives.
Team and Vendor Supervision
- Lead and supervise LMS administrators, instructional designers,
content developers, trainers, and other program resources.
- Define responsibilities, allocate work, review deliverables, and support team development.
- Manage external technology, content, implementation, and support vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance against agreed timelines, budgets, service levels, and quality standards.
Stakeholder Management and Adoption
- Partner with senior leadership and functional teams to align the LMS program with organizational priorities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for LMS-related requirements, decisions, and escalations.
- Develop change-management, communication, and user-adoption plans.
- Conduct demonstrations, training sessions, and onboarding for administrators, managers, instructors, and learners.
- Collect stakeholder feedback and use it to continuously improve the platform and program.
Analytics and Continuous Improvement
- Define key performance indicators for adoption, engagement, completion, learner satisfaction, knowledge improvement, and business impact.
- Develop dashboards and reports for management and key stakeholders.
- Analyse learning data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct periodic program and platform reviews.
- Recommend enhancements based on learner feedback, analytics, technological developments, and evolving business needs.
Budget, Risk, and Governance
- Prepare and manage LMS program budgets, resource plans, schedules, and procurement requirements.
- Identify program risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Maintain accurate system, process, configuration, and governance documentation.
- Ensure that LMS activities comply with applicable regulatory, contractual, security,
and data-protection requirements
Preferred candidate profile
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Education, Learning and Development, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience managing LMS implementations, digital learning programs, or learning-technology operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading an LMS project from requirements gathering through launch and ongoing operations.
- Hands-on experience with one or more major LMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of instructional design, adult-learning principles, digital content development, and learner engagement.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, budgets, timelines, and third-party vendors.
- Working knowledge of LMS integrations, data migration, APIs, single sign-on, user management, and reporting.
- Familiarity with e-learning standards and tools, authoring tools, and virtual-learning platforms.
- Robust project-management, analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification or professional certification in project management, instructional design, learning technology, or a related field.
- Experience supporting large, distributed, multilingual, or external learner populations.
- Experience with learning analytics, business intelligence tools, and automated reporting.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and data-protection requirements.
- Experience managing a learning academy, certification program, customer education platform, or enterprise-wide learning transformation.
