Role Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Lead Java Architect with 15+ years of experience in designing, modernizing, and delivering large-scale enterprise applications and platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java architecture, microservices, enterprise integration, cloud-native technologies, performance engineering, and technical leadership. The candidate should be comfortable working hands-on with engineering teams while providing architectural direction and driving complex technology initiatives.

Experience in the Hospitality, Lodging, Travel, Reservation, or Booking domain will be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and architect scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise applications using Java 17/21+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, and Apache Camel.
- Lead the modernization of legacy and monolithic applications into microservices-based and cloud-native architectures.
- Remain hands-on with coding, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), troubleshooting, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Design and implement complex upstream and downstream integrations using REST APIs, events, messaging, file-based integrations, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Define and implement resilient architecture patterns, including Circuit Breaker, Retry, Timeout, Caching, Idempotency, Saga, and Event-Driven Architecture.
- Drive improvements in performance, scalability, availability, reliability, security, and observability.
- Work across application and data layers, including SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, data access, and persistence technologies.




- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring adherence to architecture principles, coding standards, and best practices.
- Conduct architecture and design reviews and provide recommendations on technology selection and implementation approaches.
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, engineering teams, and other architects to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement, and drive appropriate solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers and architects and promote engineering excellence across the organization.
- Contribute to Agile planning, technical estimation, solution design, and delivery.

Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, and enterprise application development.
- Robust hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
- Extensive experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, Kafka, Apache Camel, messaging, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with Java 17/21 or higher and modern Java development practices.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, high availability, resiliency, and fault-tolerant architecture.
- Experience in legacy application modernization and monolith-to-microservices transformation.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching mechanisms, and data integration.
- Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures.




- Strong understanding of security, observability, logging, monitoring, and performance engineering.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making skills.

Good to Have
- Experience in Hospitality, Lodging, Travel, Reservation, or Booking Platforms.
- Experience working with high-volume, transaction-intensive enterprise platforms.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and distributed transaction patterns.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and automated software delivery practices.
