Job Summary

Work as a Networks Operations Engineer in 24 x 7 workplace. Take care for Changes, Network deliveries, routers, switches, firewall. Autotask tickets and Squad Work.

Key Responsibilities

Core Networking Skills Routing & Switching:

VLANs, STP, VTP, EtherChannel

OSPF, EIGRP, BGP (basic knowledge)

IP addressing, subnetting, and NAT

QoS (Quality of Service) implementation

Cisco Catalyst Switches (IOS-based):

Switch configuration, trunking, inter-VLAN routing

Port security, MAC filtering

PoE (Power over Ethernet) management

Redundancy with HSRP, VRRP

Cisco Firewalls (ASA, FTD):

ACLs (Access Control Lists)

NAT (Network Address Translation)

VPN (Site-to-Site & Remote Access)

Firepower Threat Défense (FTD) policies

Logging and monitoring (Syslog, SNMP)

Security & Compliance

Firewall Hardening:

Rule optimization and cleanup

Next-Gen Firewall features (IPS, AMP, URL filtering)

SSL decryption & inspection

Security zones and segmentation

AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting):

TACACS+ / RADIUS integration

802.1X (Network Access Control)

Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

Cisco DNA Centre, Prime Infrastructure

Syslog, SNMP, NetFlow analysis

Wireshark, packet capture

Advanced Cloud Networking

SD-WAN & Cloud Integration:

Required Skills and Experience

- Hands-on experience supporting Networks, Switches, Firewall & Cisco hardware
- Experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise WAN & Azure Networking
- Working knowledge of VLANs, STP, VTP, EtherChannel, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP (basic knowledge), IP addressing, subnetting, and NAT, QoS (Quality of Service) implementation
- Experience with working knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Switches (IOS-based) & Cisco Firewalls (ASA, FTD), Switch configuration, Port security, MAC filtering, Redundancy with HSRP, VRRP, ACLs (Access Control Lists), NAT (Network Address Translation), VPN (Site-to-Site & Remote Access)
- Experience with Firewall Hardening, Security zones and segmentation, Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting, Next-Gen Firewall features (IPS, AMP, URL filtering), SSL decryption & inspection, Syslog, SNMP, NetFlow analysis, Wireshark, packet capture
- Experience and exposure to Advanced Cloud Networking, SD-WAN & Cloud Integration, Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela, Meraki) basics, Cloud security models for AWS/Azure networking, Spanning Tree Protocol (PVST, RSTP),Redundant firewall failover (Active/Standby ASA, FTD clustering), Load balancing techniques (Cisco ACE, F5)
- Exposure to Cisco CLI, ASDM, FMC (Firepower Mgmt. Centre); Ansible/Python (for automation); SolarWinds, PRTG (for monitoring)
- Ability to diagnose complex incidents using logs, monitoring tools, structured troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Strong communication, documentation, customer-service, and cross-team coordination skills.
- Experience working within ITIL-based incident, request, problem, and change-management processes.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications in CCNA, CCNP, Cisco DevNet Associate.
- Experience supporting enterprise environments with defined SLAs, security controls, audit requirements, and after-hours maintenance windows.
