We are transitioning from a single-client architecture (currently serving O’Reilly Auto Parts) to a true multi-tenant SaaS platform by the end of Q3 2026. Experience of leading backend architecture for this transformation by designing scalable APIs, implementing secure tenant isolation, optimizing database performance, and ensuring the platform is reliable, secure, and ready for enterprise growth.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the complete backend stack—from API design and database architecture to cloud infrastructure and deployment automation.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js
Design and optimize MongoDB Atlas data models, indexing strategies, aggregation pipelines, and query performance for a multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
Architect and maintain AWS infrastructure, including:
S3 for media storage as we are media heavy enthusiast
IAM for secure access control
CloudFront for CDN delivery
Lambda for serverless workloads
Additional AWS services as required




Lead the migration from a single-tenant architecture to a scalable multi-tenant platform, including tenant onboarding, data migration, tenant configuration, and isolation strategies.
Design authentication and authorization systems using JWT, OAuth, OTP, and role-based access control.
Build asynchronous processing systems using queues, background workers, scheduled jobs, and event-driven workflows.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or similar deployment platforms.
Positive to have experience with Integration and maintenance of third-party services including:
Twilio
SendGrid
Google APIs
OpenAI
Anthropic
Monitor backend performance, troubleshoot production issues, optimize cloud costs, and ensure high system availability.
