Job DescriptionAbout the Position:
NDesign, develop and maintain high performance forwarding/networking software for the next generation of Switches.
NWe are seeking a highly motivated Packet Forwarding Engineer to design, develop, and enhance high-performance networking software for next-generation routing and switching platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in networking fundamentals, Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols, packet processing, and software development using C/C++.
NWhat you will do:

- Design and develop packet forwarding and dataplane features for networking products. N
- Implement and optimise Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols. N
- Analyse packet flows and troubleshoot forwarding-related issues. N
- Collaborate with architecture, control plane, and platform teams to deliver scalable networking solutions. N
- Debug and resolve customer-reported networking and performance issues. N
- Contribute to feature design, code reviews, testing, and performance optimisation. N

- Strong programming skills in C and/or C++. N
- Positive understanding of packet forwarding and dataplane concepts. N
- Hands-on experience with networking protocols such as: N
- Layer 2: VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, LACP, VXLAN, EVPN N
- Layer 3: IPv4, IPv6, ARP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS N
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and packet processing. N
- Experience with Linux-based development environments. N
- Excellent debugging andproblem-solving skills. N

nPreferred Skills

- Knowledge of MPLS, VPLS, QoS, Multicast (IGMP/PIM). N
- Experience with merchant silicon or ASIC-based networking platforms. N
- Familiarity with network operating systems and telecom/service provider environments. N
