Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Heavy Truck Driver to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will operate tractor-trailers and various commercial trucks to transport freight across local, regional, and over-the-road (OTR) routes. Your expertise in handling different types of cargo, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and hazardous materials, will ensure timely and safe deliveries.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on diverse routes, including OTR driving routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques and appropriate equipment; handle logistics cargo with precision to prevent damage or accidents
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes for efficiency and timely deliveries
- Transport a variety of cargo types such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (Hazmat), dangerous goods, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments while maintaining safety protocols




- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate documentation for each shipment, including delivery logs, load & unload records, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or potential delays

Qualifications

- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the cargo type (e.g., Hazmat endorsement if applicable)
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across diverse terrains
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT rules, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading
- Experience operating different truck configurations such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers or refrigerated trailers
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks safely
- Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with all federal and state laws
