Description Persistent is an AI-led digital engineering and enterprise modernization partner working with leading global organizations. They seek a Senior AI Platform Engineer specializing in Generative AI and cloud-native backend development to build scalable LLM-powered applications.

Role: GenAI / Agentic AI engineer

Location: All Persistent Locations

Experience

- 6 to 12 Years
- 8–12 years of experience in backend software development and cloud-native application engineering

Responsibilities

- Build and extend LLM-powered tool-calling pipelines for intelligent application workflows
- Design, develop, and optimize prompt-based workflows involving intent detection, prompt normalization, decision-making, and response orchestration
- Write, test, and refine LLM instructions and prompts using established evaluation frameworks and quality benchmarks
- Develop and maintain high-performance HTTP APIs using Bun, Node.js, and Express
- Build scalable backend services and integrate them with AI services, databases, and external microservices
- Design and optimize SQL-driven data access layers using Drizzle ORM and AWS Aurora PostgreSQL
- Deploy, monitor, and support cloud-native applications on AWS using GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines




- Manage containerized deployments and cloud infrastructure components across AWS environments
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining engineering best practices, governance, and accountability
- Ensure compliance, security, and governance controls for regulated and sensitive data environments
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, data engineers, and frontend developers to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Contribute to Next.js / React applications when cross-functional development is required
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, sprint planning, and technical design sessions
- Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability, performance, and scalability
