Kwill is the operating system for client work. Freelancers and small studios run their whole client relationship through us — proposals, contracts, invoices, payments, files, messages — inside a portal their client can open without making an account. We're registered in Waterloo, Canada, with our engineering office in Amritsar. The product went live this month and we've been shipping every week since March.

We're a team of seven. You'd be our second frontend developer, working directly with the founder and two backend engineers.

What you'd actually work on

Not tickets handed down from a product manager. Real surfaces, owned end to end:

- The customer-facing app — dashboard, proposal builder, invoice flow, settings, and the white-labelled client portal our customers send to their own clients
- The design system — building components, then propagating new patterns across the app so it stops looking like three different products
- White-label customisation — brand colours, logo upload, custom domain setup
- Stripe payment states, including the ugly parts: failed payments, retries, recovery UX
- The mobile PWA — manifest, service worker, push subscription flow, mobile layouts for the five core screens. Most of our portal traffic is phones and this is currently our biggest gap
- getkwill.com — performance, animation, conversion
- Internal admin and ops tooling wherever a frontend surface is needed

Plus the unglamorous work that actually matters: bundle size and Core Web Vitals, accessibility (semantic HTML, keyboard nav, focus management, contrast), taking a bug from a support ticket to a deployed fix, and reading support tickets often enough to spot the UI problem behind them.

What we're looking for

- 1–3 years building production frontends with React. You've shipped something real that other people use
- Robust TypeScript,



or strong JavaScript and a genuine willingness to learn TypeScript fast
- Comfortable with Next.js, or comfortable enough with React that Next.js is a week of ramp-up
- CSS you can actually reason about — layout, responsive behaviour, why the thing is 3px off — not just Tailwind classes you copied
- Design sense. You can look at a screen you built and tell that the spacing is wrong
- You read error messages, reproduce the bug, and fix the cause rather than the symptom
- You can write a explicit pull request description

Nice to have, not required

- Design system or component library work
- PWAs, service workers, push notifications
- Stripe or any payments integration
- Accessibility work you can point to
- A portfolio, GitHub, or side project you're proud of

The honest bits

- On-site in Amritsar, Punjab. Not remote, not hybrid
- Monday to Saturday. 12:30 PM – 7:30 PM IST Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Saturday. The afternoon shift is deliberate — it overlaps with our Canada side
- Early-stage. Seven people. Things change, priorities move, and you'll occasionally ship something on a Friday that you rethink on Monday. If you want a role with a fixed scope and a long spec, this isn't it
- You'll be visible. Your work is the product. There's nowhere for a bad screen to hide

Compensation and terms

- ₹3,60,000 – ₹4,80,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Full-time, permanent
- 3-month probation, compensation reviewed at the end of it and annually after
- 12 days casual leave + 8 days sick leave per year, plus Punjab public holidays
- Paid on or before the 5th working day of each month, without exception
