Batangarh is looking for a Freelance Investigative Journalist to uncover important stories through ground reporting, research, credible sources and fact-checking.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct investigative research on newsworthy and public-interest issues.
- Perform ground reporting and collect facts, documents and evidence.
- Build and maintain credible local sources and contacts.
- Conduct interviews and verify information from multiple sources.
- Investigate leads related to scams, corruption, irregularities and public issues.
- Prepare well-researched reports and story briefs for the editorial team.
- Maintain source confidentiality and follow responsible journalism practices.
Requirements
- Experience in investigative/ground/news reporting preferred.
- Strong research, fact-checking and interviewing skills.
- Good Hindi communication and writing skills.
- Strong local knowledge and source network in MP, Rajasthan, UP or Delhi.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
