- Conduct regular rounds in the Emergency Department and other assigned areas, closely monitor patients vital signs, and promptly document and communicate changes in their clinical condition.
- Provide immediate assessment, stabilization, and management of medical and surgical emergencies until the concerned consultant takes over.
- Perform emergency and routine clinical procedures, including IV cannulation, catheterization, intubation, suturing, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as per clinical competency and hospital protocols.
- Implement treatment plans and instructions provided by consultants, write and execute treatment orders, and ensure the timely administration of prescribed medications.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical documentation, including case sheets, daily progress notes, emergency records, discharge summaries, and medico-legal documentation.
- Coordinate effectively with consultants, nursing staff, diagnostic services,
and other clinical departments to ensure timely and seamless patient care.
- Communicate with patients and their attendants regarding the patients clinical condition, as guided and authorized by the treating consultant.
- Ensure strict compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, clinical protocols, infection control practices, and medico-legal requirements.
- Participate in clinical audits, mortality and morbidity meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental academic activities.
- Assist in guiding and supervising junior doctors, interns, and other clinical staff, as and when required.
- Ensure timely escalation and referral of critically ill patients to the concerned consultant or specialty team.
