E&I; Shift In-charge CPP/WHR

***(Functional and Administrative)No of Reportees :* Purpose of the job:
- To ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted operation of all Electrical and Instrumentation systems of CPP and WHR during the shift.
- To maintain availability and reliability of Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation and Control systems for achieving targeted power generation.
- To monitor and coordinate preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities during the shift.
- To ensure compliance with statutory, safety and electrical regulations.
- To lead and guide shift personnel for efficient operation and maintenance of E&I; systems.
:
Plant availability:
- Ensure availability and reliability of Electrical and Instrumentation systems of CPP and WHR.
- Monitor health of HT/LT equipment, Transformers, Motors, Protection Systems, PLC/DCS and field instruments.
- Coordinate with operations team for uninterrupted plant operation.
- Ensure timely restoration of equipment during breakdowns.
Supporting Actions
- Monitor operating parameters of critical electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Ensure proper functioning of switchgears, relays, UPS, batteries and emergency systems.
- Carry out regular inspection of critical equipment.
- Monitor and rectify abnormalities during the shift.
- Maintain equipment history and shift records.
Cost:
- Control maintenance expenditure and optimize resource utilization.
Supporting Actions
- Monitor electrical consumables and spare parts consumption.
- Optimize manpower deployment during maintenance activities.
- Implement cost reduction and energy conservation initiatives.
- Control inventory of critical spares and consumables.
Improvements & Reliability:
- Improve equipment reliability and plant availability.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Supporting Actions
- Analyze equipment failures and identify root causes.
- Monitor KPIs such as OEE, MTBF and MTTR.
- Implement predictive maintenance techniques.
- Standardize best maintenance practices across the department.
People management:
- Build and sustain an effective shift team.
- Develop competency and multi-skilling of team members.
Supporting Actions
- Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Provide role clarity and performance feedback.
- Guide subordinates on safe maintenance practices.
- Promote teamwork and operational discipline.
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 810 years of experienceKey Differentiating Skills:
- trong knowledge of Power Plant Electrical Systems.
- Expertise in HT/LT systems, Transformers, Motors and Protection Systems.
- Positive knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA and Automation Systems.
- Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of statutory electrical regulations and safety requirements.
- Strong communication and team management skills.
- Computer proficiency in SAP and MS Office.
- Effective planning and decision-making capabilities.
