Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to manage the collection, identification, sorting, staging and timely dispatch of CNC-cut plates and profiles from the Hull Shop/CNC Plate Yard to the required fabrication, sub-assembly and assembly areas.

The candidate will be responsible for coordinating manpower, material movement, dispatch priorities and documentation while ensuring safety, traceability and production schedules are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily dispatch activities in the Hull Shop/CNC Plate Yard.
- Coordinate collection of CNC-cut plates, profiles, brackets, stiffeners and other fabricated components from cutting machines.
- Ensure materials are sorted and identified according to nesting plans, piece lists, drawings and production requirements.
- Verify part numbers, quantity, material grade, thickness, dimensions and destination before dispatch.
- Ensure proper marking/tagging/identification of cut parts for complete material traceability.
- Coordinate movement of materials using cranes, forklifts, trailers and other material-handling equipment.
- Plan and prioritize dispatches based on the fabrication and assembly production schedule.
- Coordinate with CNC Cutting, Production Planning, Hull Fabrication, Assembly, Quality Control, Stores and Logistics teams.
- Ensure cut plates and profiles are delivered to the correct fabrication skid, work station or block-building area on time.
- Maintain records of material collection, sorting, staging and dispatch.
- Prepare daily dispatch reports showing pending, completed and delayed materials.
- Ensure balance plates,



scrap and unused materials are properly segregated and accounted for.
- Check that materials released for dispatch have completed the required QC/inspection clearance.
- Monitor manpower productivity and allocate workers according to daily dispatch requirements.
- Ensure safe loading, unloading, lifting and transportation of plates and profiles.
- Ensure compliance with shipyard safety procedures, lifting procedures and PPE requirements.
- Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, drivers and material-handling personnel.
- Identify material shortages, incorrect parts, missing markings or production delays and escalate them immediately.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and organized material stacking in the dispatch/holding yard.

Required Experience

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, heavy fabrication or steel fabrication.
- Experience in Hull Shop / CNC Plate Processing / Steel Plate Yard / Material Dispatch will be preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience managing workers, riggers, crane operators or material-handling teams.
- Ability to understand nesting plans, piece lists, production drawings and material identification systems.
- Experience in plate/profile material movement and dispatch coordination.
- Knowledge of lifting and material-handling safety procedures.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Fabrication, Welding, Shipbuilding or related trade preferred.
- Candidates with robust relevant shipyard experience may also be considered.
