About The Role HCLSoftware is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining security controls that safeguard our enterprise and cloud infrastructure.

This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and has a passion for security automation and platform management. You will own end-to-end security platforms, from initial design and rollout to continuous tuning, automation, and operational health monitoring. Collaborating closely with Security Operations Center (SOC), Vulnerability Management, IT, and Cloud Engineering teams, you will play a critical role in enhancing our security posture and ensuring the resilience of our digital assets.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or related roles with a strong technical foundation. Demonstrated ownership of multiple enterprise security platforms, including deployment, configuration, and ongoing management, is essential.

Candidates should have proven expertise in cloud security, particularly within major providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with native security services and policy enforcement. Practical scripting skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Go, along with experience working with vendor APIs, are required. A solid understanding of operating system internals, networking, and identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth is necessary.

Experience with infrastructure as code,



version-controlled workflows, and troubleshooting complex environments will set candidates apart.

Preferred qualifications include experience with SIEM migrations, container security, detection engineering, and automation using SOAR platforms.

Certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP security certifications, GCED, GCIA, GDSA, or CISSP are advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities As a Security Engineer at HCLSoftware, your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of security engineering tasks. You will deploy, configure, and maintain core security platforms including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), email security, secure service edge, cloud security posture management, and identity controls.

Designing effective control rollouts to cover gaps, handle exceptions, and ensure performance is a key aspect of your role. You will integrate security tools with SIEM and SOAR systems to enable actionable telemetry and response automation, ensuring security operations are efficient and effective. Monitoring control health, including agent coverage, policy compliance, and failure detection, will be part of your daily routine.

You will implement and manage security guardrails across multiple cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP, establishing policies, monitoring posture, and automating remediation workflows. Building and maintaining hardened baselines for operating systems, containers, and cloud services aligned with recognized benchmarks like CIS is essential. Additionally, you will engineer secrets management, key lifecycle controls, and support secure network design, including segmentation and remote access configurations.

Automation plays a vital role in your responsibilities; you will automate repetitive security operations tasks through scripting, APIs, and infrastructure as code, ensuring configurations are version-controlled, peer-reviewed, and repeatable. Building integrations between security, IT,



and engineering systems to facilitate seamless data flow and operational efficiency is critical. Documentation and runbook creation will ensure that operational procedures are clear and maintainable.

Supporting incident response activities, including rapid control changes, containment, and forensic data collection, will be part of your scope. You will collaborate closely with Vulnerability Management to engineer scalable remediation solutions and participate in on-call rotations for high-severity incidents. Contributing to audit and customer assurance activities by collecting and maintaining control evidence is also expected.

In addition, you will focus on AI security engineering by implementing guardrails for internal AI and large language model systems, protecting against prompt injection, model poisoning, and data exfiltration. Maintaining and securing AI infrastructure, developing automation workflows leveraging AI/ML, monitoring AI tool usage, and staying updated on emerging AI threats will be key components of your role. Your expertise will help ensure that our AI systems are resilient against evolving security challenges.
