Introduction

Child in Need Institute (CINI) has been implementing/facilitating different programs to demonstrate models in improving quality of lives of children, adolescent and women in need. CINI also provides technical support to different State Governments and at National level for strengthening existing services and build up capacities of personnel working at different layers. CINI’s core model is based on CINI method that promotes a rights-based convergence approach which has so far attracted the attention of policy makers and other different actors of development sector, and which has proven to be an effective design to promote local level solutions for improving care and protection of Children.

Experience / Competencies :

- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in mental health, psychosocial support, counselling or therapeutic services.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting therapeutic sessions, particularly group therapy/group-based interventions.
- Strong skills in psychosocial assessment, identification of emotional and behavioural concerns, basic case management and referral.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, youth, women and LGBTQIA+ persons, particularly from diverse or marginalised communities.
- Knowledge and practical experience in gender-affirmative and inclusive mental health practices. Training/certification in Gender-Affirmative Practice will be an added advantage.
- Ability to create a safe, confidential, non-judgmental and inclusive therapeutic environment.
- Strong facilitation, communication and participant engagement skills.
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- Positive communication skills in Hindi; working knowledge of English will be an added advantage.

Qualification:

- Postgraduate degree in Psychiatric Social Work (PSW), Social Work, Psychology,



Clinical Psychology or a related mental health discipline.
- Candidates with M.Phil./Ph.D. in Psychiatric Social Work Clinical Psychology, Psychology or a related mental health field will be preferred.
- Professional training/certification in psychosocial assessment, counselling, therapeutic interventions, group therapy or other evidence-based mental health approaches will be an added advantage.

:

- The consultant will be responsible for planning and delivering structured mental health, psychosocial and therapeutic group sessions across the three ILCs.

· Design and facilitate 20 sessions per ward, totalling 60 sessions across three wards. · Conduct the sessions in two phases:

Phase I: September–October 2026 – 10 sessions per ward.

Phase II: October–November 2026 – 10 sessions per ward.

· Conduct approximately 1.5-hour sessions, with 5–10 participants per session.

· Conduct age- and need-appropriate sessions for children, adolescents, youth, women and LGBTQIA+ participants.

· Undertake basic psychosocial assessment to understand participants’ emotional, behavioural and social concerns and inform the sessions.

· Use appropriate group therapy, counselling and therapeutic approaches to address emotional awareness, stress and anxiety management, coping, self-esteem, emotional regulation, communication, relationships and resilience.

· Ensure a gender-affirmative, safe and inclusive environment for all participants.





· Identify participants requiring additional support and facilitate appropriate referrals in consultation with CINI.

· Coordinate with the CINI team for participant mobilisation, scheduling, logistics and safeguarding.

· Maintain attendance, session plans and brief session-wise documentation.

· Submit a Phase I report and a final Phase II report covering sessions conducted, participant engagement, key observations, outcomes, challenges and recommendations.

· Maintain confidentiality and adhere to CINI's safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality and ethical standards.

· Develop a session schedule covering all three ILCs, ensuring completion of 20 sessions at each ILC within the contract period, in consultation with the CINI team and community participants.

Note: The consultant will prepare the weekly session schedule in consultation with the CINI team, taking into account the availability of both the consultant and community participants. While finalising the schedule, preference will be given to the day and time most suitable for the community, to facilitate maximum participation and regular attendance, while also ensuring the consultant’s availability.

Salary: -

The total consultancy fee is Rs 60,000 for 60 therapeutic/psychosocial sessions, calculated at Rs 1,000 per completed session.

This amount is inclusive of all costs. No additional payments will be made for travel, accommodation, or any other expenses.
