Role & responsibilities

- Lead analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of COBOL-based banking solutions.
- Review code, enforce engineering standards, optimise SQL/batch performance and ensure high-quality releases.
- Guide developers, allocate work, provide technical mentoring and support delivery estimates and planning.
- Collaborate with product owners, banking SMEs, architects, operations and testing teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Own production incidents, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, documentation and knowledge transfer.
- Support regulatory, security, audit and operational-resilience requirements applicable to banking systems.

Domain

Banking preferably Core Banking, Deposits, Lending, Payments, Cards or Customer Information systems

Preferred candidate profile

1-Advanced COBOL programming, code review and optimisation.

2- Banking domain knowledge: deposits, lending, payments and customer accounts.

3- PL/SQL, cursor handling and performance tuning .

4- Batch/online processing .

5- COBOL File Handling.
