We are seeking an experienced Backend Architect with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, Cloud Technologies, and Distributed Systems. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can define and drive enterprise-scale backend architecture, design scalable cloud-native solutions, and provide technical leadership across engineering teams.

Notice Period - Immediate The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing backend architectural standards, driving modernization initiatives, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical applications. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, product teams, solution architects, and engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Define and lead backend architecture for scalable, distributed, and cloud-native applications.

Design and implement robust backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.

Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.

Create and review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.

Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Drive adoption of microservices, event-driven architecture, and API-first design principles.

Define service decomposition strategies, integration patterns, and domain boundaries.

Lead cloud architecture and deployment strategies across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

Define integration frameworks for internal applications, APIs, and third-party systems.

Ensure application performance, scalability, availability, reliability, and security.

Implement observability practices including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting.

Drive CI/CD and DevOps practices for automated build, testing, deployment, and release management.

Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and enforce engineering governance.

Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to development teams.

Identify and mitigate technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and architectural challenges.

Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, security controls,



and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

10 Years to 14 Years of experience in software development, with significant experience in backend architecture roles.

Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, distributed, and highly available systems.

Robust experience leading technical teams and driving architecture decisions.

Experience delivering enterprise applications in cloud-native environments.

Backend Expertise (Primary Skill)

Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and related technologies.

Extensive experience designing and implementing Microservices Architecture.

Expertise in RESTful APIs, API Gateway patterns, service orchestration, and service discovery.

Strong knowledge of distributed systems, scalability patterns, and fault-tolerant architectures.

Experience with event-driven architecture using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, or ActiveMQ.

Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and optimization using SQL and NoSQL databases.

Experience with Spring Cloud components including Config Server, Gateway, Circuit Breaker, and Service Registry.

Expertise in caching technologies such as Redis, Hazelcast, or Memcached.

Strong knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, asynchronous processing, and performance optimization.

Experience implementing secure and scalable APIs.

Cloud & DevOps Expertise

Hands-on experience with GCP cloud platforms

Strong knowledge of containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Experience building cloud-native, resilient, and highly available services.

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Bitbucket Pipelines.

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).

Experience with monitoring, observability,



and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, or Cloud Monitoring.

Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and deployment strategies.

Engineering & Architecture Practices

Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, system design, scalability, and high-availability principles.

Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and Hexagonal Architecture.

Knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and secure coding practices.

Expertise in OAuth2, JWT, API security, and identity management solutions.

Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.

Experience implementing resiliency patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Retry, Bulkhead, and Failover mechanisms.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Ability to drive architecture governance and technology modernization initiatives.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Provide technical leadership and architectural direction across multiple engineering teams.

Mentor developers, technical leads, and senior engineers.

Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and solution architects to define technology roadmaps.

Drive architecture discussions, technology evaluations, and platform modernization efforts.

Lead technical design reviews and ensure engineering excellence across teams.

Nice to Have

Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.

Exposure to serverless architectures and modern cloud-native patterns.

Knowledge of GraphQL and API management platforms such as Apigee, Kong, or MuleSoft.

Experience with event-streaming platforms and real-time data processing solutions.

Familiarity with Kubernetes Operators and service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).

Experience implementing enterprise integration patterns.

Knowledge of AI-driven platform integrations and modern backend ecosystems.

Experience in large-scale digital transformation programs.
