Associate Data Quality Analyst, Interoperability Products

About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented, entry-level Data Quality Analyst to join our Interoperability team. In this role, you'll perform Primary Source Verification (PSV) confirming that data within structured clinical documents (CCDs) and FHIR JSON files accurately reflects the original source documentation found in supplied EHR chart PDFs.
This is a outstanding opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to build a foundation in health information management and clinical data quality. No prior work experience is required we provide full training on our verification process, tools, and standards.
PSV work on this team supports two related efforts:
- Our organization's participation in the NCQA Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) program, which requires PSV between EHR source data and CCD/FHIR JSON output as part of its validation standards.
- PSV support for our CozevaConnect (EHR Integration) product, which also requires chart-to-CCD verification.
What You'll Do
- Conduct Primary Source Verification (PSV), comparing data elements in supplied EHR chart PDFs against the corresponding CCD or FHIR JSON output to confirm accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Verify key clinical data including (but not limited to) problems/diagnoses, medications, immunizations, lab results, vital signs, procedures, encounters, and provider information for patients.
- Identify and document discrepancies between source charts and CCD/FHIR JSON, including missing data, mapping/transformation errors, and formatting issues.
- Read and navigate FHIR JSON resources (e.g., Patient, Condition, Observation, Encounter) to locate the data elements being verified full training on FHIR structure is provided; no prior coding or JSON experience required.
- Log all verification results, discrepancies, and supporting evidence in a standardized tracking tool/case log.
- Flag patterns of recurring errors (e.g., a specific source or data field consistently failing verification) to your team lead.
- Follow project-specific verification guidelines, which may include NCQA's DAV standards (conformance with the HL7 C-CDA R2.1 Implementation Guide or US Core FHIR IG, where applicable) or internal standards.
- Collaborate with developers, product/program managers, project managers, and other team members to resolve identified data quality issues.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and organizational data privacy/security policies when handling PHI.
- Meet productivity and accuracy targets for case throughput during PSV review cycles.
- Actively support process modernization using emerging AI tools and capabilities.
- Other interoperability data quality projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Health Information Management, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Biology, or a related field are a plus, but not required).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies across documents.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to clearly document findings including what was expected, what was observed, corresponding evidence, impact, and next steps.
- Comfortable reading and comparing structured/semi-structured documents (e.g., PDFs, forms, records) for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and checklists consistently.
- Comfortable working with sensitive/confidential information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA and organizational security protocols.
- Comfortable with repetitive, detail-oriented work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or exposure to health information systems, medical terminology, or health records.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) or clinical documents/data formats (e.g., CCD/C-CDA,
FHIR/JSON).
- Experience with data entry, quality review, auditing, or similar detail-oriented work.
- Basic understanding of health care operations.

Note: The candidate should be flexible to work during overlapping hours with the U.S. Eastern (EST) and Pacific (PST) time zones to facilitate effective collaboration with global team members and leadership.
