Description Gainwell Technologies seeks a Principal AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI and Generative AI solutions for healthcare technology platforms, focusing on improving healthcare outcomes and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance.

Role: AI Engineer, Principal

Location: Bangalore, KA, IN, 560100 | Remote India

Experience

- 2 plus to around 15 years of experience in AI/ML engineering
- Experience developing and deploying AI solutions
- Experience with machine learning, deep learning, Gen AI (multi modal LLMs), NLP, and computer vision
- Experience developing, deploying and finetuning LLMs (GPT, Gemini, Claude or similar)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and MLOps
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, SQL, NoSQL databases)

Qualification

- Bachelor or Master’s or higher in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and train machine learning, deep learning, time series models, Gen AI, predictive analytics, NLP
- Develop, test, and deploy AI solutions in cloud and on-premises environments
- Work with large healthcare datasets performing data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA during data processing
- Implement and optimize AI models within Gainwell’s technology
- Evaluate models and continuously monitor performance of ML/DL and LLMs
- Continuously monitor, refine, and optimize AI/GEN AI models for accuracy, efficiency, and speed
- Stay updated with latest AI/ML/GEN AI advancements




- Ensure AI implementations adhere to healthcare industry regulations and ethical AI principles
- Automation and workflow enhancement
- Front end development using Streamlit

Additional Responsibilities

- Business analysis, requirements documentation, and healthcare reference data support activities without direct access to PHI or PII
- System integration and API development
- Leadership skills
- Translate business challenges into AI-driven solutions
- Architecting skills and ability to convince multiple stakeholders

Nice To Have

- Knowledge of healthcare AI applications and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS)
- Experience with React, Angular, Vue.js for front end development
- Minimal travel required (0-10%)
