FINANCE & ACCOUNTS OFFICER

1. Position Summary
The Finance & Accounts Officer will independently handle end-to-end accounting operations across key areas including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation, banking, payroll, and MIS. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, supporting timely financial reporting, and providing reliable financial information to management. The ideal candidate should have robust practical knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, statutory compliances, banking operations, and accounting software, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
1. Key Responsibilities
A. General Accounting
- Handle day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries, payment entries, receipt entries, purchase and sales entries.
- Maintain general ledger, cash book, bank book and other accounting records.
- Perform regular ledger scrutiny and account reconciliation.
- Ensure proper accounting and documentation of all financial transactions.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
B. Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices and verify supporting documents.
- Ensure proper accounting of purchases, expenses and vendor liabilities.
- Prepare vendor payment schedules and coordinate for timely payments.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of outstanding payables.
C. Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and record customer invoices and debit/credit notes.
- Monitor customer outstanding balances and receivables.
- Conduct regular customer ledger reconciliation.
- Follow up for outstanding payments in coordination with the concerned departments.
- Prepare ageing reports and support collection activities.
D. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Assist in ensuring timely compliance with GST, TDS and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain data required for GST returns,
TDS returns and other statutory filings.
- Verify tax deductions and ensure correct accounting of statutory liabilities.
- Reconcile GST input/output records and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain proper records and supporting documents for audits and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, auditors and statutory authorities whenever required.
E. Banking & Cash Management
- Handle day-to-day banking transactions.
- Prepare bank payment instructions and related documentation.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Monitor bank balances and cash flows.
- Maintain proper records of cheque, online and other banking transactions.
- Coordinate with banks regarding routine banking matters.
F. Payroll & Employee Accounting
- Coordinate with HR for monthly payroll processing.
- Verify salary-related data, deductions, advances and reimbursements.
- Ensure proper accounting of payroll and employee-related expenses.
- Assist with statutory deductions and payroll-related compliances.
- Maintain employee advances and settlement records.
G. MIS & Financial Reporting
- Prepare periodic MIS reports for management.
- Prepare reports relating to receivables, payables, expenses, cash flow and outstanding balances.
- Provide financial data and analysis as required by management.
- Support preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Identify discrepancies, unusual transactions and variances and bring them to management's attention.
H. Audit & Documentation
- Coordinate with internal, statutory and tax auditors.
- Provide required schedules, ledgers, vouchers and supporting documents.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Assist in responding to audit queries and implementing corrective actions.
1. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter or equivalent qualification will be preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Practical knowledge of GST, TDS and basic statutory compliances.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally / ERP systems.
- Good numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills.
1. Experience
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Experience in handling end-to-end accounting operations independently will be preferred.
- Candidates with experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing, EPC or project-based organisations will have an added advantage.

- Timely completion of GST/TDS and other applicable compliances.
- Timely bank, vendor and customer reconciliations.
- Accuracy of MIS and financial reports.
- Reduction in outstanding receivables and reconciliation differences.
- Timely processing of vendor payments and employee-related transactions.
- Audit compliance and timely resolution of audit queries.
1. Preferred Candidate Profile
The preferred candidate should be a self-driven and responsible finance professional capable of independently managing day-to-day accounting operations. The candidate should demonstrate strong practical knowledge of accounting, taxation, reconciliations, banking and MIS, along with a high level of accuracy and ownership. Preference may be given to candidates with experience in Engineering / EPC / Construction / Manufacturing / Project-based companies.
