CCTV OPERATOR – JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Purpose
The CCTV Operator shall be responsible for the continuous monitoring, operation, review, maintenance, documentation, and secure management of the organization’s CCTV surveillance system. The Operator shall assist management and authorized security personnel in preventing, detecting, documenting, and responding to security incidents while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Continuous CCTV Monitoring
Monitor all assigned CCTV cameras and surveillance screens continuously during duty hours and promptly identify suspicious, unusual, unsafe, or unauthorized activities.
Camera & Area Coverage
Ensure that critical areas, including entrances, exits, parking areas, reception, corridors, common areas, restricted areas, stores, cash-handling areas, and other designated locations, remain under appropriate surveillance.
Review of CCTV Footage
Search, review,
and analyze live and recorded footage whenever required for security incidents, complaints, investigations, accidents, theft, disputes, missing property, unauthorized access, or other legitimate purposes.
Incident Identification & Immediate Reporting
Immediately report suspicious activity, theft, unauthorized entry, violence, accident, fire, damage, safety hazards, tampering, or any other unusual occurrence to the concerned supervisor/manager/security personnel.
Emergency Response Coordination
During emergencies, immediately alert the appropriate security, management, fire-safety, medical, or other authorized personnel and provide relevant CCTV information to assist in the response.
Incident Documentation
Record the date, time, location, nature of the incident, camera number, persons involved/observed, action taken, and person to whom the matter was reported.
Preparation of Reports
Prepare accurate daily surveillance reports, incident reports
