Overview

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Deck Watchkeeper to join our vessel Osprey, on a roster schedule 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off. This vessel operates in Southen Australia and tansports limestone. The role of a Deck Watchkeeper is to act as the deck and mooring equipment operator. It differs from a traditional Deck Officer position on a blue water vessel.

The Deck Watchkeeper will be responsible for;

- Bridge, Navigation and watch keeping officeru2019s duties as directed by the Master;
n

- Deck duties and functions ;
n

- Permitted duties and function as specified in Marine Orders 71;
n

- Inspection and maintaining Lifesaving and Fire Fighting Equipment;
n

nn
- Monitoring, maintenance and inspection of Deck machinery and equipment;
n

nn
- Undertaking cargo watch and ballasting duties;
n

nn
- Administering the medical stores inventory;
n

nn
- Any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned;

The skills you will bring to our team

Basic Requirements

- Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 71 u2013 Watchkeeper Deck (required)
n
- Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)
n

- Minimum 6 months sea time as a Deck Watchkeeper
n

nn
- Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable)
n

nn
- Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)
n

nn
- Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)

- Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights
n

- Living in Australia
