1. Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and target-oriented Sales Manager Nutraceuticals to drive revenue growth, develop new customers, manage key accounts, and expand the company's presence in the nutraceutical market.
The candidate will be responsible for developing business across products such as dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals, botanical/herbal products, probiotics, prebiotics, functional foods and beverages, and other bioactive ingredients.
The Sales Manager will work closely with marketing, product development, regulatory, R&D;, supply chain, and senior management teams to convert market opportunities into sustainable business growth.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Drive sales growth across assigned territories, channels, and customer segments.
- Identify new customers and convert qualified leads into business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and territory plans.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and take corrective actions where required.
B. Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities within the nutraceutical and health & wellness sectors.
- Develop relationships with manufacturers, distributors, retailers, institutional buyers, healthcare-related businesses, and other relevant customers.
- Explore opportunities for domestic and international market expansion.
- Develop strategic partnerships with ingredient suppliers, manufacturers, and distribution partners.
- Conduct market mapping to identify high-potential customers and emerging product categories.
C. Key Account Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Conduct regular customer meetings and business reviews.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and annual business agreements.
- Resolve customer issues and coordinate internally to ensure timely resolution.
- Increase customer retention, repeat orders, and share of business.
D. Product & Industry Knowledge
Maintain strong working knowledge of:
- Vitamins and minerals
- Amino acids and fatty acids
- Botanical and herbal extracts
- Omega-3 products
- Probiotics and prebiotics
- Functional foods and beverages
- Plant-based and clean-label products
- Bioactive ingredients
- Innovative delivery systems
The candidate should also understand key industry trends such as personalized nutrition, clean-label/plant-based products, and advanced delivery technologies designed to improve bioavailability.
E. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work with R&D; and product development teams to communicate customer requirements.
- Coordinate with regulatory teams regarding product documentation, labeling, and permissible claims.
- Work with supply chain and operations teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on campaigns, customer presentations, product launches, and promotional activities.
- Provide market feedback to senior management for future product and business strategies.
F. Market Intelligence
- Track competitor products, pricing, positioning, promotions, and distribution strategies.
- Monitor changing customer preferences and emerging nutraceutical categories.
- Identify opportunities arising from growing demand for preventive health, functional nutrition, and wellness products.
- Provide regular market intelligence reports to management.
3. Regulatory Awareness
The Sales Manager must understand that nutraceutical products are subject to different regulatory requirements across markets.
The candidate should have awareness of applicable regulations and claims requirements, particularly where products are sold in markets governed by organizations such as FSSAI in India, FDA in the United States, EFSA/EU regulations, and MHLW/FOSHU in Japan.
The Sales Manager must ensure that sales presentations, customer communications, and product claims are aligned with approved company and regulatory guidelines.

Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in any of the following preferred fields:

- Other relevant disciplines
Experience
- 58 years of relevant sales/business development experience.
- Experience in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, functional foods, pharmaceuticals, ingredients, FMCG, or health & wellness is preferred.
- Experience managing distributors, B2B customers, key accounts, or institutional clients is an advantage.
