We are looking for an experienced PHP Laravel Developer who can take ownership of backend development and work confidently on Laravel applications, REST APIs, databases, third-party integrations and AWS/cloud environments.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a developer who can understand an existing application, debug problems independently and build reliable production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The selected developer will be responsible for:

- Developing and maintaining backend applications using PHP and Laravel
- Building scalable, secure and well-structured REST APIs
- Developing APIs for websites, mobile applications, third-party platforms and internal systems
- Designing and managing MySQL databases, relationships, indexes and queries
- Working with Laravel Models, Controllers, Services, Middleware, Events, Jobs and Queues
- Developing authentication, authorization and role/permission-based systems
- Integrating third-party APIs and external services
- Working with payment gateways, CRM platforms, email services, webhooks and other business integrations
- Understanding and implementing complex business logic
- Debugging and resolving issues in existing production applications
- Optimising application and database performance
- Writing reusable, maintainable and properly structured code
- Working with Laravel queues, scheduled jobs, cron jobs and background processing
- Implementing proper validation, exception handling, logging and error management
- Understanding application security and following secure development practices
- Working with Git for source-code management and team collaboration
- Supporting application deployment and cloud/server configuration
- Working with AWS services and cloud-hosted applications
- Coordinating with frontend developers, designers, project managers and other technical team members
- Reviewing existing code and improving it without unnecessarily breaking stable functionality
- Taking ownership of assigned modules from development through testing and deployment

We do not expect the developer to be a dedicated DevOps Engineer, but the candidate should be comfortable understanding how a Laravel application operates in a production cloud environment.

API & Integration Experience

Strong API knowledge is important for this position.

The developer should be comfortable with:

- Creating RESTful APIs
- Consuming external APIs
- API authentication
- Bearer tokens / API keys
- Laravel Sanctum or similar authentication mechanisms
- JSON request and response handling
- Webhooks
- API validation
- API error handling
- Logging
- Postman or similar API testing tools
- Third-party service integrations

Experience integrating services such as payment gateways, CRM systems, email platforms, cloud storage or other SaaS applications will be an advantage.

Candidate Requirements

Mandatory:

- 3–5 years of qualified PHP/Laravel development experience
- Strong hands-on Laravel experience
- Robust PHP and MySQL knowledge
- Experience developing REST APIs
- Experience integrating third-party APIs
- Working knowledge of AWS/cloud environments
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills
- Git knowledge
- Candidate must currently be based in Mumbai
- Candidate must already be serving a notice period, be immediately available, or be able to join within 15 days

Candidates requiring a notice period longer than 15 days will not be considered for this position.
