Job Summary

The Floor Supervisor is responsible for managing daily floor operations, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining visual merchandising standards, monitoring stock availability, and achieving department sales targets. The role requires strong leadership, discipline, operational control, and customer handling skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations

· Supervise day-to-day floor activities and ensure smooth store operations.

· Ensure departments are clean, organized, and customer-ready at all times.

· Monitor opening and closing procedures.

· Ensure shelves are fully stocked, faced properly, and price tags are accurate.

· Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams for stock replenishment.

· Monitor product expiry and damaged stock.

· Ensure proper implementation of SOPs and company policies.

Team Management

· Supervise floor staff, helpers, merchandisers, and promoters.

· Allocate daily tasks and responsibilities.

· Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and discipline.

· Train new employees on floor operations and customer service.

· Conduct regular briefing sessions with staff.

· Motivate team members to achieve operational and sales targets.

Customer Service

· Ensure customers receive prompt assistance.

· Resolve customer complaints professionally.

· Monitor staff behavior and customer interaction standards.

· Maintain a positive shopping environment.

Sales & Merchandising

· Monitor department sales performance.

· Ensure attractive product displays and promotional execution.

· Support implementation of offers, promotions, and seasonal displays.





· Identify fast-moving and slow-moving products.

· Coordinate with management for stock planning.

Inventory & Stock Control

· Monitor stock levels and prevent out-of-stock situations.

· Conduct periodic stock checks.

· Coordinate with inventory team during stock audits.

· Reduce shrinkage, wastage, and pilferage.

Compliance & Safety

· Ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained.

· Ensure fire exits and safety equipment are accessible.

· Report operational issues, maintenance problems, or security concerns immediately.

Required Skills

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Good communication and customer handling ability.

· Basic computer knowledge.

· Ability to work under pressure.

· Good problem-solving skills.

· Strong understanding of supermarket operations.

Qualification

· Minimum Plus Two / Degree preferred.

· Experience in retail, supermarket, or hypermarket operations preferred.

Experience

· 2–5 years experience in retail floor supervision or related operations.

Reporting To

Store Manager / Operations Manager

Working Conditions

· Rotational shifts.

· Weekend and holiday duty required.

· Standing and walking for long hours.
